This is about global warming

Sometimes she brings us too close to the fire
Mother, warming her back

We shed the layers that would protect us
To vanity

Don’t complain she needs this
Moth of flame

Of Fog

Blue base, gray white cover
Green stems dull, misty

Hazy feeling snap in your breath
Soft for its edges
Sharp impendent

Shatter the clouds
As a city lay witness
Sky steps down to our feet

You can always touch the water
of another skyline.

Family Affair

I walk beside Fear, with it
Caution, niece of Life and cousin
to Presence – mother of Beauty.

None lead my way but
neither do I walk ahead
We go together.

And there too was Trust.

4th dimension

Have you ever seen bad news pass through a crowd
Like a bad disease it spreads

Thundercloud it festers
Electric in your head

Eclectic how they said
Art is the 4th dimension

A unit of measurement
Side effect of the energy

Newton Edison Einstein couldn’t cure

Age of Thought

I was so young
Yesterday
12 days or years
Ago
What I didn’t know
Welcome,
knowledge
You’ve wisened me up
I’m not wise enough
I think today
I’ll stay
Young

Water

Mist lead my feet to mystery
and fog gives us clouds to walk on

Fly me so I can try to spot an angel wave
Pour from your heart and remind me to cry

Give me puddles of your love
let me lay among the rush

Wash over and cleanse my feet
Nourish my skin and the fish in the sea

Cracked a Smile

Like a perfect resin cherry
You looked so sweet
It hurt my teeth
You got me.

circa 2012

They say if you love someone fight for them.

If you were a fish and I wanted  you
I wouldn’t hold you
keep you
Make you hold your breath and
keep you out of water

If you were a fish and I wanted to be you
I wouldn’t cut gills in my neck so I could
breathe like you

If you were a fish and I wanted to be with you
I would jump in the water
And even if you needed to, wanted to leave anyway
at least I learned how to swim.

Just Like You

And if there ever were
Like there never were
A poem just like this
It’d say:
I miss you
